Upload Guidelines

Last Updated: May 2025

1. Recommended Use Cases

Image.Hosting is designed for sharing visual content in public-facing or community-driven spaces. Recommended scenarios include:

  • Images for personal blogs or websites
  • Visual assets for technical documentation
  • Inline images in forum discussions or developer Q&A

Important: Image.Hosting is not intended for private backups or long-term personal storage. Please do not use it as a CDN or to hotlink mass image libraries.

2. Albums & Tags

  • You can organize your images into Albums, which can be set to public, private, or password-protected.
  • Each album has a unique shareable link. Private albums require a password to view.
  • You can assign multiple custom tags to any image to make search and categorization easier.
  • The platform supports tag-based search and filtering for better management.

3. Upload Rules

  • You may upload up to 40 files at once.
  • Batch editing of album placement and tags is supported.
  • The following file types are supported: .avif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .gif, .webp, .mov, .mp4, .webm.
  • We generate thumbnails for optimized delivery, while preserving the original resolution.

4. Privacy & EXIF Data

Images are publicly accessible only if you share the link. They are not listed or searchable by default unless tagged or linked from elsewhere.

By default, EXIF metadata (such as location, device model, timestamp) is preserved when uploading images. However, you can choose to automatically remove EXIF data from your uploads by adjusting your preferences in the Account Settings.

If your images contain sensitive or private information, we strongly recommend enabling this option or manually stripping metadata before uploading.

5. Device & Interface Tips

  • Best experienced on desktop browsers.
  • Mobile browsers are supported, but the full feature set is best accessed on larger screens.
  • Drag-and-drop uploading and album-based organization are supported in modern browsers.

6. Prohibited Behavior

To keep the service fast and sustainable for everyone, the following uses are prohibited:

  • Using Image.Hosting as a personal image archive or backup system
  • Hotlinking from mass traffic sources (e.g. image-based blogs, ad platforms, or chatbots)
  • Using the service as a CDN or hosting third-party content at scale

Violation of these rules may result in removal of your images and permanent account suspension.
